HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I "love" Halloween! Maybe it's the change in weather, seasons, a holiday where there's no pressure what to get anyone for gifts, no pressure about what to make for dinner, et cetera. Riley and I had so much fun picking out costumes. Little Red Riding Hood is one of her favorite stories, and she really enjoyed having Jason dressed like the Big Bad Wolf. Halloween started with Riley getting dressed up for daycare. I only had her go for a couple hours so she could enjoy the party and seeing all the other kids dressed up. There was a cowboy, a firefighter, and a kitty. (There are four kids in Riley's daycare.) Then we were off to a grocery store that puts on a fun event for the kids. We went to Trunk or Treat. This was the first year for this event and it was pretty cool. It's a huge parking lot where several cars, vans and pickups are all parked in rows, like a car show. Their trunks or back of vans or trucks are all decorated. There was a van that was made up like a big ship and we could actually walk through it! Each car was giving out candy. We then met up with some friends and let the girls go trick-or-treating together and give out candy at their house. The girls were so excited. At one point Lauren, Riley's friend who is the pumpkin in the second picture, felt it was taking too long to answer the door and gave a very exasperated, "Come on" right as he was opening the door. It was so hard to keep Riley from, first of all, ringing on the doorbell, but then pounding on the door. Every house we had to hold the girls back from practically breaking down their door! It was a late night, but everyone had a great time!
